- duodeno-jejunal diverticulae
- surgical blind loops e.g. after Polya gastrectomy
- secondary to obstruction:
- Crohn's disease

- radiation stricture
- pseudo-obstruction
- fistulae:
- especially small bowel to colon fistulae
- especially small bowel to colon fistulae
- hypogammaglobulinaemia
- tropical sprue
- systemic sclerosis
- autonomic neuropathy:
- diabetes
- diabetes
- achlorhydria:
- vagotomy
- drugs
- autoimmune
- old age
