Clinical features
The clinical attributes of lateral sinus thrombosis include:
- often few focal cerebral symptoms
- papilloedema may be present, most marked on the affected side
- may be evidence of a corticospinal tract defect on the opposite side
- the Tobey-Ayer test is unreliable and should not be used
