Epidemiology
The epidemiological features of cylindroma are:
- rare
- tend to arise in early adult life
- inheritance:
- familial trait: autosomal dominant with a tendency to form multiple nodules
- sporadic: solitary nodules
- site:
- most commonly scalp
- rarely, face or limbs
- twice as common in females
- very rarely associated with radiation-damaged skin
