Cranial nerve IX
The glossopharyngeal nerve supplies:
- the sensory component to the posterior 1/3 of the tongue, the pharynx and the middle ear
- the taste fibres for the posterior 1/3 of the tongue
- the motor supply to the middle constrictor of the pharynx and the stylopharyngeus
