CBT in obsessive-compulsive disoder
Behavioural therapy is effective and is the first line treatment: the patient is exposed to their fears while obsessive behaviour is prevented.
If behavioural therapy fails then assumptions about catastrophes, perfection and personal responsibility are challenged.
