Differential diagnosis
Similar conditions which cause symptoms of Dupuytren disease are:
- non-Dupuytren disease - is a unilateral disease usually involving a single digit. Spontaneous improvement of the disease is seen in most with some rarely needing surgery
- epithelioid sarcoma
- occupational thickening, hyperkeratosis, and callus formation - seen in a working person's hand caused by chronic friction and pressure
- soft-tissue giant-cell tumour
- palmar ganglions, and inclusion cysts
- stenosing tenosynovitis
