Types
TORCH is an acronym that is used to describe the more common foetal infections, standing for the following:
- Toxoplasmosis
- Other, which refers to syphilis and HIV infection principally, but may also refer to gonorrhoea and varicella
- Rubella
- Cytomegalovirus
- Herpes, and also hepatitis
