Poor prognostic indicators
These include:
- severe hypotension (<75 mmHg systolic)
- skin/rectal temperature difference of > 3 degrees C
- glasgow coma scale of less than 8
- absence of meningism
- rapid extension of purpuric rash
- leucopaenia
