Chronic groin and scrotal pain
Chronic groin pain often occurs with no clues in the history and no swelling. Some conditions to consider include:
Chronic groin pain:
- inflamed inguinal lymph nodes secondary to infection
- strained muscle attachments to the bony pelvis, especially the hip adductors which have attachments near to the pubic tubercle
- referred pain from a diseased hip
- early inguinal hernia, ie before it has become clinically apparent
Chronic scrotal pain:
- inflammation
- chronic bacterial epididymitis
- recurrent incomplete testicular torsion
