Borrelia species
The major Borrelia species that affect humans are:
- Borrelia burgdorferi, causing Lyme disease
- Borrelia recurrentis, causing epidemic relapsing fever
- Borrelia hermsii, duttoni and digesi, causing endemic relapsing fever
