Maltoma
Maltomas (mucosal associated lymphoid tumours) are indolent lymphomas which arise in the following tissues:
- gastrointestinal tract especially the stomach
- thyroid
- parotid
- lung
There is an association with pre-existing inflammation:
- stomach maltoma with H. pylori gastritis
- parotid maltoma with Sjogren's syndrome
