- chronic myeloid leukaemia: WBC (++), haematocrit (N), platelets (N or +), red cell morphology (N)
- myelofibrosis: WBC (N or + or -), haematocrit (N or -), platelets (N or + or -), red cell morphology (abnormal)
- polycythaemia vera: WBC (N or +), haematocrit (+), platelets (N or +), red cell morphology (N)
- essential thrombocythaemia: WBC (N or +), haematocrit (N), platelets (++), red cell morphology (N)
N.B. CML has Ph chromosome in 95% of cases + low LAP
