High or raised vitamin B12
Levels of serum vitamin B12 may be raised in:
- chronic granulocytic leukaemia
- acute myeloblastic leukaemia
- acute promyelocytic leukaemia > 1600 ng/l
- myelosclerosis
- chronic lymphatic leukaemia
- carcinomatosis
- liver disease:
- acute hepatitis
- cirrhosis
- chronic liver disease
- hepatic coma
- polycythaemia rubra vera
- non-leukaemic leucocytosis
It is not increased in Hodgkin's lymphoma or myeloma.
