Coitus interruptus
This is a method of contraception that involves the male withdrawing his penis from the vagina prior to ejaculation.
It is relatively ineffective with many disadvantages:
- 30% failure rate - due to: - delay in withdrawal - sperm in the pre-ejaculatory fluid
- high degree of self-control required by both partners
- intercourse is often unsatisfactory
