Examples where back pain associated presentation
In some instances back pain may not be root pain or simple backache.
Examples include:
- non-spinal pathology e.g. abdominal aortic aneurysm
- systemic diseases where back pain is a presenting feature e.g. ankylosing spondylitis, tuberculosis (Pott's disease)
- referred pain e.g. back pain radiating from the abdomen
