Colorectal screening: familial adenomatous polyposis
Patients with a diagnosis of familial adenomatous polyposis should be offered a colectomy with ileo-rectal or ileal pouch-anal anastomosis.
Patients with polyps of the rectal stump require screening.
Patients who retain their colon should be offered twice yearly colonoscopy with removal of all polyps.
