Cobalt
Cobalt is an essential mineral that is largely consumed as a constituent of vitamin B12, and is required as a part of vitamin B12 for erythropoiesis. Some cobalt is absorbed which is not part of vitamin B12: this is rapidly excreted via the kidneys.
