Clinical features
Bilious vomiting presents as intermittent sudden attacks of vomiting 15 - 30 minutes after a meal. The vomit is pure bile with no food. The attack may be preceded by cramping epigastric pain which is relieved by the vomiting.
Other features characteristic of dumping such as fainting, tachycardia, nausea and sweating after food may be present.
