Acute diarrhoea
A sudden attack of diarrhoea is common, often short-lived and usually resolves spontaneously.
Often the diarrhoea is due to viral infection, bacterial infection or some dietary indiscretion. The possibility that the diarrhoea is a drug reaction (e.g. antibiotics) should be considered.
