Right ventricular hypertrophy (RVH)
Causes include:
- an increased right ventricular filling:
- high output states
- increased blood volume - overtransfusion, acute nephritis
- increased resistance to right ventricular evacuation:
- pulmonary arterial hypertension
- pulmonary stenosis
- inefficient emptying of right ventricle:
- pulmonary incompetence
- tricuspid incompetence
