Prevalence
- the 2011 national audit of pulmonary hypertension (PH) in the UK showed that 6200 patients were seen in the seven designated centres giving a prevalence of 97 patients per million population
- median age was 62 years with 1.8 females to every male. Nearly half the patients had pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and one fifth had chronic thromboembolic pulmnonary hypertension (CTEPH)
