Investigations
- ECG: may show low voltage QRS complexes and generalised T wave inversion
- chest xray: small cardiac shadow; there may be peripheral calcification
- echocardiography: thickened pericardium; a normally contracting ventricle (unlike the ventricle seen in a restrictive cardiomyopathy)
