First (1st) degree heart block
In first degree heart block there is a delay in the conduction pathway from the sino-atrial node to the ventricles. This is illustrated on an ECG as a PR interval of greater than 0.2 seconds.
A finding of first degree heart block may have no pathological significance. However it may be a sign of underlying disease.
