Examination of the mouth
Examination of the mouth may reveal:
- a high arched palate suggests Marfan's syndrome
- decaying teeth may be a cause of bacteraemia and, potentially, bacterial endocarditis
- a blue tinge to the tongue may indicate central cyanosis
