Diuresis in heart failure (contraindications)
Heart failure with a raised JVP may be caused by certain conditions which will be exacerbated by diuretic therapy:
- constrictive pericarditis
- pericardial tamponade
- right ventricular infarction
- pulmonary embolism
- mitral valve disease when the cardiac output is low
