  • blood glucose, HbAlc (for DM)
  • immunoelectrophoresis (for myeloma), Bence Jones protein
  • haematology: FBC, Hb, haematocrit, platelet count
  • others: ESR, CRP, ANF, C3 (connective tissue disease)
    • if the putative diagnosis is connective tissue disease then renal angiography may be indicated.
