      • currently, in the UK, the average cost of a breast implant procedure is around £4,000
      • to have breast implants funded via the NHS, the appearance of the woman's breasts needs to be causing significant psychological distress. Possible reasons for significant distress may be due to:
        • severe underdevelopment
        • a congenital abnormality, or
        • very unevenly sized breasts
      • availability of NHS funded implants may also depend on local primary care trust (PCT) and the amount of funding that they allocate for breast implant procedures
