Vibrio
The genus vibrio includes the following species:-
- cholerae
- parahaemolyticus
- vulnificus
The vibrios are comma shaped organisms.
Vibriosis is the human illness caused by pathogenic strains of the Vibrio genus of bacteria (excluding Vibrio cholerae strains O1 and O139, which cause the separate illness of cholera)(1).
