  • Hearing loss

In this section we focus on hearing loss, including who needs an immediate referral, why certain patients with hearing loss who are of Chinese or Southeast Asian family origin need an urgent 2-week referral, the link between hearing loss and dementia and how we can make our practices more hearing loss friendly.

  • Maternal and child nutrition

We review the new NICE guideline on maternal and child nutrition and focus on those areas that apply most to us working in primary care. We discuss updates on supplementation, healthy eating and weight management during pregnancy, and breastfeeding support.

It includes a discussion on assessing severity and when to suspect hyperemesis gravidarum, plus a review of primary care management, including lifestyle advice and pharmacological treatment options.
