Dr Natasha Yates

Natasha is a GP with a special interest in medical education. She maintains a part-time clinical practice on the Gold Coast, Australia, while also working as the GP Lead for the NewMed medical school programme.

Natasha completed her medical degree (MBBS) at the University of Queensland, gained her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), then worked for a number of years in rural settings in Queensland and New South Wales. After moving to the Gold Coast she pursued a career in academic medicine and is currently a PhD candidate in Medical Education at Bond University, where she has previously held roles as Assistant Professor and Deputy Lead of General Practice.

Natasha contributes to medical education and public health communication through several roles. She is an Assistant Editor for the Australian Journal of Primary Healthcare, has published in multiple peer-reviewed journals, and is a regular contributor to The Conversation, where her articles have reached a wide audience. She is the mother of four teenagers, and enjoys pilates, cycling and reading.
