  • in children, exclude cystic fibrosis by a sweat test, and a meningocoele by CT
  • biopsy a unilateral polyp to exclude neoplasia
  • decide upon:
    • medical management - topical or systemic steroids
    • surgery - nasal polypectomy or ethmoidectomy
