  • dermoid cysts:
    • most common

  • neurogenic tumours:
    • arising from nerve cells:
      • neuroblastoma
      • ganglioneuroma
      • phaeochromocytoma
    • arising from nerve sheaths:
    • neurilemmoma
      • neurosarcoma
      • neurofibroma

  • thymoma

  • other very rare tumours:
    • lipoma and liposarcoma
    • haemangioma
    • benign and malignant mesenchymal tumours of the heart
    • mesothelioma of the pericardium
