This acronym (originally simply `GOBI') refers to a set of WHO primary care initiatives aimed at improving the health of children worldwide:

  • G - growth monitoring, for example by the use of road-to- health charts
  • O - promotion of oral rehydration therapy for the management of diarrhoea
  • B - promotion of breast feeding
  • I - immunisation
