Salbutamol is a selective beta2-adrenoceptor stimulator.

Indications:

  • asthma and other reversible airways
  • obstruction
  • premature labour - it is a tocolytic

Salbutamol is administered in a variety of manners, including:

  • oral tablets or syrup
  • inhalation in aerosol, powder or nebulised form
  • injection, intravenous, subcutaneous or intramuscular
